Rules and Policies

Tuition

1. Our Dance year runs from mid September-mid June. Dance tuition is averaged out over those ten months, because it has been averaged your tuition is always the same whether there is only two weeks in that month or five (example: Sept. & June vs. Oct. & March).

2. Your Account is charged monthly and payments should be made at the beginning of each month. Failure to pay tuition by the 30^th of the month will result In a $15.00 late fee. If your bill is left unpaid for 2 months, students may be asked not return to class until the account is paid up.
3. There is a $20 registration fee per student to enroll, this fee is non-refundable and due before classes begin.
4. We offer a discount of buy 3 classes get the 4th free per family.  The class that is the least amount comes off of the balance first.  Competition classes may not be counted in this discount.  In regards to student teaching, discount applies if student wants to take 5 classes.  New this year, buy 5 classes and receive unlimited classes after that.       
5. You may pay either in cash, check, or credit card. You may also pay by accessing your account online through our website, by creating an account you can easily update your information, view your account and previous payments as well as pay through credit card online.  If you choose not to pay online please make payments between classes or leave payments in the payment box located in the office.  Make all checks payable to Morlock School of Dance.
6. If a check is returned there will be a $30.00 fee charged to your account, as well as repayment for the bad check. If you write a bad check more than two times we will no longer accept payment by check. 

Recital and Costumes

7. We hold a recital at the end of the dance year in mid June. If you choose not to participate, please let us know before we order costumes in Nov.                                                               If you do participate please keep in mind there is a $50.00 per family recital fee and separate costume bill. Please note that this recital fee in non negotiable and will be charged to your account in January and must be paid before June. 

1.  Deposit for each costume is $25.00 and is due Nov. 1^st. Costumes must be paid in full by end of January or you will receive a late charge of $15 per month that is not paid. (costume prices generally range between $50-$65 per costume)
2. There will be a Parent's Recital Week meeting in April in which we discuss a lot of important information.  This meeting is mandatory and so that you may be as informed as possible.  

Joining Late or Quitting

10. If you join late and still wish to participate in the recital, but the date for ordering costumes has already passed, you child may still perform if we can receive the costume in time for the show. However you will need to pay for that costume in full and pay for shipping and or any rush fees depending on how late it is in the year.
11. If your child quits, please give a courtesy call to let us know. There are no refunds for leaving halfway through a month. If you leave without paying your bill, your account will be put into collections!

Missing and Making Up Classes

    10. If your child is going to miss a class please be courteous, call us and leave us a message that your child will not be attending that day. 

11. IF YOUR CHILD MISSES A CLASS, THAT CLASS MUST BE PAID FOR WHETHER OR NOT IT IS MADE UP. (No credits will be given)

12.Make-up classes may be scheduled by coming on a different day and joining a class of similar level.  On occasion we may be able to schedule a private make up lesson; these lessons will go no longer than 15-20 minutes.  Please do not abuse our make up policy, only so many make ups will be given.

Class Cancellation

1. All cancellations due to in climate weather or otherwise will be posted on our website (www.morlockschoolofdance.com) If you do not have internet access, a message will be left on the voicemail at the studio #860-568-0160 or you can call us directly      #860-997-5419.  If class is cancelled you may make up your classes on a different day, if you choose. No credits will be given.

Studio Etiquette

1.   Please do not make a habit of bringing your child late. It only hurts them and makes it harder for them to learn the material. Students should arrive at least 5 minutes early either ready to dance, or with enough time to change.

2.   We like to promote good attendance throughout the dance year.  Please miss as few classes as possible.  

3.   Please no parents in the dance rooms. Parents and family should not loiter in the front entrance or office.

4.   Please help us keep our studio clean; remember to pick up after yourself and your child. Make sure to pick up your children at the end of class promptly. We realize that you may be very busy, however please respect our time, as well.

5.   **If students are not dressed appropriately for class they may be asked to sit out.

Picture Day

      1.  Picture day will be held at the end of the dance year close to recital, a more specific day will be given as it gets closer.  Please make sure you save this date so all students can participate in the free group photo that will be displayed in the studio.
